Next TAB Meeting - November 5

The next TAB meeting will be Monday, November 5, from 4-5pm in the Centerville Library program room. We will be voting for the "Best of" Hot Picks at this meeting, so take a look at the titles before you come. They are listed in the December Hot Picks voting post further down this page.

Also, don't forget to bring your folders to the meeting...you could win a prize! See you there!

Book, Movie and Music Reviews

Do you have a review that's due? All reviews for the remainder of the year need to be turned in! Don't miss out on the chance to be featured on the Cool Reads & Hot Picks blog!

Please bring reviews to the November 5 TAB meeting or email the TAB mailbox.

Emergency Program Help Needed!

Help! The children's program Fall Harvest Fun, which I thought was scheduled for Oct. 27, is actually taking place tonight, Oct. 22! If you are free and want some extra TAB brownie points, please volunteer. We need 2-4 people from about 6:45-8:15. (Sonali, Saniya, Janette, and Rahul were originally going to help on the 27th).

If you can help, please call the library, email the TAB mailbox, or add a comment to this post.

December Hot Picks Voting

At the November 5 meeting, we will vote for the "Best Of" Hot Picks for the December issue. You will choose from books TAB has reviewed over the past year. Here are the titles you can choose from and the months they were reviewed:

February: The Horse and His Boy by C.S. Lewis
March: no TAB review submitted
April: The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri
May: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

September: Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

November: The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls

Meeting Minutes - October 15

Attendance: 16

• Teen Read Week party!!!!
• Icebreaker: where in the world would you like to have a pen pal?
• Special game: People Bingo! Megan, Saniya and Amy won prizes.
• Brian and Maesa turned in their reviews. Teri will email hers. Still need reviews from Janette, Nick, and Amera. A reminder was given as to when reviews are due.
• December Hot Picks will be a "Best of". TAB will vote at the Nov. 5 meeting. Titles will be on the blog.
• Volunteers were confirmed for Oct. 16 TTT. Rachel may also help.
• Matt and Michael confirmed that they will be here as volunteers for the Oct. 20 Falcon program.
• Rahul may not be available for the Oct. 27 Fall Harvest kids program. Arpan may replace him.
• Everyone received a giant candy bar with the Teen Read Week LOL logo.
• New books and advanced reader copies were available.

Next TAB Meeting - Oct. 15

We're having a party! The next TAB meeting is Monday October 15 from 4 -5pm in the Centerville Library program room. In addition to our regular business, we will also be throwing a party to celebrate Teen Read Week! Get ready to have some fun!

Reminder: anyone who has a book, movie, or CD review assigned to them for the rest of the year should turn it in at this meeting.

• Welcomed four new TAB members
• Prizes were handed out to anyone wearing a TTT t-shirt
• Icebreaker: if you could build a statue in Centerville, what would it be and where would you put it?
• New members received TAB folders
• Reminders for September/October reviews
• Received volunteers for November reviews
• Confirmed volunteers for upcoming programs and added volunteers for the November Easy Origami program
• Went over upcoming programs & contests
• Brainstormed ideas for January/February programs & contests
• Gave TTT t-shirts to new members
