Next Meeting - November 3 - Bring Your Canned Goods & Cell Phone

The next TAB meeting is on Monday, November 3, from 4 - 5 pm at the Centerville Library. Here's what you need to know about it:
  • We'll have a demonstration of how to text message a librarian with your homework questions. Bring your cell phone, if you have one, so you can practice sending text reference questions during the meeting. Participants will be entered for a chance to win an MP3 player!!!!!!!!!!
  • It's your last chance to donate nonperishable food items to the TAB food drive. Be sure to bring in soups, cereals, beans, pasta, etc if you haven't already done so.
  • And don't forget--December reviews are due at this meeting.

  • Craft Mania Zania brainstorming: key chains, ornaments, snowflakes (Amy), cards, recycled ornaments, old Christmas card ornaments, sand bottles

Next Meeting - October 20

The next TAB meeting is on Monday, October 20, from 4 - 5 pm at the Centerville Library. Remember your November reviews if you signed up to do one but haven't turned it in yet. And everyone is strongly encouraged to bring in a few nonperishable food items for our food drive--spaghetti, peanut butter, soups, granola bars, beans, anything canned or prepackaged will work. Meeting Minutes - October 6

  • November reviews due: Book—Sonali; Music—Saniya; Movie—Janette; Video Game—Arpan
  • December reviews: none to assign because it will be "Best of 2008"
  • Pats on the Back handed out to Janette (2), Olivia, Saniya, Julia, Sonali, Arpan, Brian, and Rachel
  • Confirmed and asked for more volunteers for TTT Rock Band and Twilight Night, w/ the following results: (1) Tuesday, October 14, 7 – 8:30 pm @ CV is TTT Rock Band with volunteers Michael, Saniya, Tom, Arpan, and Amy; arrive by 6:45! (2) Thursday, October 16, 7 – 8 pm @ CV is Twilight Night with volunteers Sonali, Colleen, Kimmie, and Saniya; arrive by 6:45!!
  • Donation Opportunities: (1) Canned food drive through November 2nd meeting to donate to local food pantry; there is a critical need for food because of the bad economy and last month's wind storm depleting the supply. (2) Operation Christmas Child in December, which Rachel will investigate and report back about.
  • Took TAB pictures
  • Can now text message questions to reference.
  • Advance Reader's Copies offered to those in attendance (maxiumum of 2 per person)
